         school wishing you a
great start to the school year. Please find below a few
         recent council updates.
         Town Millage Rate

In July of each year the town must set the Truth in
Millage Rate, which is the maximum rate the town can
assess when the final budget is adopted in September.
In July, the Council set the rate at the same as the
existing rate, meaning there will be no increases to
the millage rate next year. As we move through the
budget process the Council will still have discretion
to discuss and adopt a lower rate.

         Police Station And
         Veterans Memorial

The council recently approved a contract with
Kaufman Lynn Construction for the construction
management services for the new police department,
emergency operations center, and veterans memorial.
This is a great step forward and I look forward to
keeping this project on time to enhance the town’s
public safety operations and honor our brave military
         veterans.
         July 4 Mega Bash

I hope everyone had a great July 4. As we have
in previous years, the town was a sponsor of the July
4 fireworks at Roger Dean Stadium. Despite a little
rain, the show went on and it was great to see so many
         residents out to celebrate.
