LMC’s first female board chair and cofounder of the Go
Blue Awards, Lynne L. Wells, praised the conservation efforts
of all nominees and finalists: “We are very grateful to work
in partnership with Dr. Robert Ballard and our prestigious
independent panel of judges to recognize the tremendous
accomplishments of this year’s Go Blue Awards finalists.
The accomplishments these individuals have achieved
to protect our beautiful blue planet are exhilarating! Dr.
Ballard’s lifelong commitment to innovation, exploration, and
discovery is perfectly aligned with LMC’s strategic vision to
expand upon our innovation in sea turtle rehabilitation and
ocean conservation; Dr. Ballard’s involvement in our awards
luncheon is a wonderful pairing.”
Hosted by LMC, the Annual Go Blue Awards Luncheon
recognizes and awards four individuals and one business
or nonprofit that promote, implement, or contribute to a
“blue” lifestyle of marine conservation and make significant
contributions to improve and protect our oceans, beaches
and wildlife. The Presenting Sponsor of the 11th Annual
Go Blue Awards Luncheon is Manatee Lagoon – an FPL
Eco-Discovery Center. LMC’s Go Blue Awards Luncheon is
recognized as Florida’s premier ocean conservation awards
event and is judged by an independent panel of globally-
renowned conservation experts.
The 11th Annual Go Blue Awards winners, except for
the Eleanor Fletcher Lifetime Achievement Award, will
be revealed at the luncheon on Friday, Oct. 25 beginning
at 11 a.m. at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.
This year’s event will feature renowned oceanographer and
underwater explorer Dr. Robert Ballard, who will deliver
the award’s keynote speech. Ballard’s international notoriety
stems from his 1985 discovery of the RMS Titanic shipwreck.
With over 125 ocean explorations logged and as National
Geographic’s explorer-in-residence, Ballard is among the
most accomplished and well-known of the world’s deep-sea
explorers. Some of his most important discoveries include
hydrothermal vents and “black smokers” in the Galapagos
Rift and East Pacific Rise in 1977 and 1979. Ballard’s Pharmacist Approved
keynote presentation will take guests on a journey infused
with innovation, exploration, and discovery while sharing his CBD Oil
career insights on the evolving state of our world’s oceans.
The Eleanor Fletcher Lifetime Achievement Award,
named for the founder of Loggerhead Marinelife Center,
recognizes an individual who has exemplified a lifelong,
extraordinary commitment to marine conservation through
their work or volunteer activities.
