Lighthouse ArtCenter Makes
You Feel At Home This
Summer With ‘Summer
Home’ And ‘Super Summer
2.0’ (June 7 To Aug. 7)
Lighthouse ArtCenter (LAC) celebrates homes of
all sizes this summer with two concurrent exhibitions,
“Summer Home” and “Super Summer 2.0.” “Summer
Home” in the Spencer Gallery features the original
dollhouse collection from Jupiter Island resident Lucy
Bassett Andrews, whose grandfather founded Bassett
Furniture. On loan from her son Douglas B. Andrews, the
collection of three dollhouses is known for the miniature
art adorning the walls, by world-renowned artists including
Cy Twombly, Julian Schnabel, Ross Bleckner, Donald
Baechler, Rebecca Warren and Philip Taaffe. The artists
came together in 1993 creating over 50 custom-designed
artworks in their signature styles for the dollhouses.
Every home needs a pet; thus amongst these
magnificent dollhouses are large canine-inspired oil
