Big Brothers, Big Sisters Of Palm Beach And Martin

      Counties Recognized Volunteers And Supporters

Amid trophies, plaques, videos, treats and fanfare, friends, supporters and volunteers
gathered for the 2021 awards luncheon on April 28 to cheer the bonds between “bigs”
and “littles” that steadfastly represents the nonprofit Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Palm
Beach and Martin Counties – now in its 35th year!
The event, taking place and generously sponsored by Bonefish Grille in Stuart, set
the stage for smiles, laughter, hugs, and recognition for the 2021 and 2020 Big and
Little of the Year honorees, Volunteers of the Year, and the distinguished Raising a
      Child and Raising Children awards.
“Our volunteers and supporters remained steadfast in their commitment to our youth
before and during the pandemic,” said Yvette Flores Acevedo, CEO Big Brothers, Big
Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties. “Their generosity empowers youth to
graduate with a plan for their future and a mentor for their lifetime.”
A short program, led by Yvette Flores Acevedo, CEO Big Brothers, Big Sisters
of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, showcased winners with personal, heartfelt
Elysha Miskanic, Mikealo Moncayo, Luisa Espinoza, Pete Magazino, Alan Armstrong,

       Harbour Ridge Member Defeats Odds

With Two Holes In One In One Round

What Are Those Odds? 67 Million To 1 To Be Exact
The average American golfer makes a hole in one once every 12,000 rounds. On
Saturday, May 8, Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club member Patsy Harris defeated
those odds by a long shot.
Patsy, a member at Harbour Ridge since 2014, decided to start her day off with a
final 18-hole round of golf for the 2021 season. Little did she know it would end in 67
million to one odds! She teed off the River Ridge No. 10 at 8:16 a.m. and just under
an hour later, using a five hybrid from 105 yards, she made her second-ever hole in
one on hole No. 14. Once Patsy got to the seventh hole at 11:35 a.m., she thought it
best to use her six hybrid from 102 yards. She swings, she … sinks it! Incredibly, she
successfully sunk her second (and third ever) hole in one; same round, same course,
      same day!

Two Nonprofits Partner For Kentucky Derby Fundraiser

      By Jackie Holfelder
It was rockin’ at Rockin’ H Ranch in Palm City on May 1, when the Caring Children
Clothing Children (4Cs) and Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation (ERAF) partnered
to present the Third Annual Derby Day Benefit.
The fundraiser was sold out, with people enjoying both indoor and outdoor event
venues, bar service – including the signature derby day cocktail mint julep – provided
by Bonner Mobile Bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres provided by Ellie’s Downtown Deli
and Catering, located in downtown Stuart.
