Father’s Day And More
Father’s Day. A time for celebration of fathers. It is
special and meaningful in the lives of our families and
society as a whole. I am one. My two children, now
longer in the tooth than the little ones on my street, may
think I hung the moon. I didn’t, but I’ll take it. Father’s
Day is June 20 this year and the same day as the Summer
Solstice. That means the rainy season is about to begin.
Funny about time … just keeps rolling along.
School Out
Delayed this year due to the pandemic, school is not
out until June 18. Shores families are planning their travel
around that time. Families are going to places other than
the usual at this time of year. One family’s plan is a trip
to the state of Utah. Been there – staggering scenes to
remember always. Think maybe I’ll head for places I’ve
loved and want to revisit, such as the Appalachian Trail
and environs along the mountain ridges of North Carolina.
Good time of year.
Shores Homes
Many homeowners in our village are spending money
to improve their appeal. Houses are being repainted.

may have given more time at home. Some garages are
being cleared of things that haven’t been used in years.
