Attend Sept. 11 Remembrance
Ceremony And Walk
Hosted By United Way Of Martin County
The AmeriCorps Seniors program of United Way of
Martin County hosted a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and Commissioner Ed Ciampi at United Way of Martin County’s
Walk to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, Sept. 11 Remembrance Ceremony
2001 terror attacks. More than 1,000 individuals attended
the event that was held at Jock Leighton Park in Palm City. AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers distributed 2,977 American
flags and asked participants to pay it forward to honor the
lives lost on 9/11. The program included remarks from Martin
County Commissioner Ed Ciampi, a dance tribute performed
by Turn Up The Heat and a 9/11 remembrance walk across the
Veterans Memorial Bridge led by Martin County Fire Rescue.
