Street Flooding
In 1996, The Shores experienced not only street
YOUR flooding but inside homes. Shores homeowner and
Town Of Jupiter Councilor Jim Kuretski spearheaded
MARkET a major correction to our flood prevention plan. Still,
UpdATE we occasionally have street flooding because the storm
water drains get clogged with debris. A few days ago,
I witnessed a lawn maintenance crewman purposely

The Little Free Library
Little Free Library is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that builds community, inspires readers, and
expands book access for all through a global network of
volunteer-led little libraries. The organization has building
standards for the box that becomes a community project. A
former homeowner offered to build our station according
to specification and place it in the tot lot. Since that time,
homeowner Mike Stevens reconstructed and improved the
station after it was damaged in a storm. When I recently
checked on the structure it was jammed with magazines
for which it was not designed. The space was in disarray
and uninviting. Originally, the national organization’s aim
was to provide free books to children. That was altered
to include books for all ages. The idea is to take a book,
to return or replace with another. In cooperation with
the principle of the project and the community service,
users are encouraged to visit the library and to help keep
it orderly with books, only.

Crime Watch
As chair of the crime watch function on the HOA board,
I attend a monthly meeting of Jupiter Police Department’s
Community Advisory Group (CAG) along with other
Jupiter communities’ representatives. In short, Jupiter
crimes are down considerably. The Shores is in District
One which has a district commander who attends the
meetings along with the entire Jupiter Police Department
leadership including the chief. The Jupiter Police
Department depends on us to help by being watchful and
reporting suspicious activity immediately. Phone numbers
are highlighted on Page 1 of this publication.
