Pre-Party Kicks Off Cardinal Newman’s 60 Year Celebration

year with a star-
studded fundraiser,
Bowties and
Diamonds, “Oh What
a Night.” The event
includes an evening
of dinner, auctions,
and entertainment by
The Midtown Men,
four stars from the
original Jersey Boys.
The fundraiser takes
place on March 5, Myrna Cantando and Michael

A Pre-Party Celebration was hosted on Nov. 4, at the
Palm Beach residence of Cristina and Desmond Keogh.
One hundred guests came in support of Cardinal Newman
and enjoyed cocktails, tapas and sushi. Over $50,000 was
raised with the help of a matching donation by Diamond
Crusader Sponsors Erin and Michael Nickler. A highlight
of the evening was the announcement that former Jersey
Boy, Michael Longoria and his four-piece band would be
auctioned off at the gala.
Cardinal Newman is located in the heart of Palm Beach
County and has a rich tradition of attracting gifted scholars,
athletes, and artists who will become women and men of
character, faith, and intellect. Named after Saint John Henry
Newman, the high school prides itself on having supportive
alumni known for giving back to the school and community.

Health Director Alina Alonso, M.D. ’74, former State Senator
Jeff Atwater ’76, Atlanta Hawks power forward John Collins
’15, Red Sox pitcher Shane Drohan ’17, Magistrate Judge,
U.S. District Court in Maryland, Susan Gauvey ’66, CBS
Evening News Producer Rome Hartman ’73, St. Vincent de
Paul Regional Seminary President Rev. Alfredo I. Hernández,
Ph.D., S.T.L. ’80, golfer Brooks Koepka ’08, former Palm
Beach County Supervisor of Elections Theresa LePore ’73,
broadcast journalist Angela Rozier ’80 among many others.
