Michael Hoffman, President and CEO of Jewish
Federation of Palm Beach County, shared reflections from a

During the evening, Berg received the Jeanne Levy
Community Leadership Award by Jeanne’s son, Mark F.
Levy. In the more than 40 years Berg has spent in the Palm
Beaches, he has demonstrated his dedication to leadership
within the Jewish and broader communities.
“A lot of people support universities and hospitals and
other things that benefit the general community. I do that
too, but I focus my philanthropy on Jewish causes because
once you have children and grandchildren you see the need
to support the next generation, and make sure they have a
strong Jewish community to grow up in.”
Berg has served as a member of Federation Board of
Directors, its campaign chair, and board treasurer. He recently
served as board chair of the Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches
and is a past Florida chair of the Anti-Defamation League.

Hope Silverman board member of the Children’s Services Council of Palm
Beach County. Berg, who has a more than 40-year career in
wealth management, has served as managing director and
wealth manager at First Republic Investment Management
since 2015.
“Our families have interacted and have been on a Jewish
journey together for 40 years, so I am not surprised how
far-reaching Barry’s leadership and influence are,” shared
Mark F. Levy. “My mother would have been proud of Barry
for his commitment and generosity. She surely would have
agreed that Barry is a fitting recipient of the award named in
her honor.”
