to be themselves — their whole self. Conversations and
studies have shown that students in our community are
very interested in not only gaining more knowledge and
a better understanding about their Jewish and LGBTQ+
identity, but they also desire a safe and constant space for
this to occur. Temple Israel’s Whole Self program meets
this critical need, with a facilitator to help with homework,
time for studying, social opportunities, and discussions
with like-minded professionals and resourceful allies.
The program meets monthly on designated Sundays at
Temple Israel of West Palm Beach (1901 North Flagler
Drive) from 12 to 1:30 p.m. The first event featured an
LGBTQ+ roundtable discussion with a representative of
the Palm Beach County Library who provided information
and advised participants of available resources.
This vital program is free and open to our entire
community, with a focus on Jewish LGBTQ+ and their
allies, providing a safe space for all.
