Community Honors Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
To honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr., Jewish Federation of Palm Beach
County’s Jewish Volunteer Center and Jewish
Community Relations Council, with Palm
Beach Atlantic University, spearheaded a
meaningful and powerful day focused on
service and allyship to unite the community
on MLK Day. Now in its eighth year, this
local program brought together more than
850 members of all faiths, races, and ages
to volunteer with organizations across 15
locations in Palm Beach County, followed by a
ceremony to continue the journey of solidarity
against all forms of hate.
The ceremony included an inside look at the Palm vision for a tolerant, just, and kind world. The recipients

A standing-room-only crowd enjoyed an evening of
gourmet kosher dining and a cooking class taught by Klein.
Participants learned how to create delicacies ranging from
vegan fare (I am still dreaming of the beet carpaccio and
roasted cabbage red pepper aioli) to the best brisket I’ve ever
eaten. The chef also taught tips to make the preparation not
only delicious, but simple as well.
The evening culminated with a scrumptious kosher dinner
with all those who attended. A great time was had by all and
I learned that the best way to feed your mind is with great
food. The event was sponsored by Dr. Marcia Robbins-Wilf
and Dr. Perry Robins.
