The event raised $26,335 which included over $3,000 from
about 50 PLWGA members who paid to buy welcome bags/
purses containing personal hygiene and toiletry items to give
to domestic violence victims when they enter the emergency

County Guild Celebrates 30 Years

The Hibiscus Martin County Guild recently celebrated future. Pam Gardner, who was a close friend of Hibiscus
30 years of helping children and giving them a brighter Founder LaVaughn Tilton, hosted the first Hibiscus Guild
meeting in her home 30 years
ago. She was joined by 31
like-minded women who
wanted to make a difference
for abused children in our
community.
Right from the start, they
went to work doing what
they do best … creating and
planning special events and
activities to raise funds for
the children and help spread
community awareness about Marvin and Kim Williams with Pam Carrithers and
the needs of abused children Ernie Ellison
on the Treasure Coast.

women, many who are still
active today, stepped up
and enthusiastically led and

to encompass over 100
