      Loofah Soap Experiment

         You might be familiar with the loofah sponge that is
      used as a skin scrubber or buffer, but the gourds can also
      be used by creating a glycerin-based soap with the loofah
      embedded within the soap bar.
         One of  our members  nurtured  a prolific volunteer
      plant, one that grew from a dormant seed from a previous
      year. After giving away as many loofahs as her friends and
      fellow gardeners would accept, she searched for creative
      ways to use the interesting, hollow gourd (which looks
