Keith “Fletch” Fletcher, president and CEO of
BGCMC, explained details of an AmeriCorps grant
that the organization received from the Corporation for
National and Community Service (CNCS) for the 2019/20
school year.
AmeriCorps is the nation’s premier national service
program, designed to harness the talent and energy of
citizens to solve community problems.
AmeriCorps members provide critical services to
communities in need while developing their own essential
job skills and experience – building a robust pipeline of
21st century leaders with a commitment to public service.
Members get a living stipend for their service and at
the end of one year, receive an education award that can
be used to pay for college or to pay off student loans.
During the 2019/20 school year, BGCMC, in
partnership with the MCSD, will be placing 65 Krista Cestaro, Rachel Snyder and Valerie
