Jewish tomorrows? 9 p.m., Selichot Service: The Essence of Selichot
Selichot is a night of soul-searching in preparation for the
High Holy Days. It’s a time when we reflect on the state of
our world, the state of our lives and the relationship between
the two.
As part of that process, we will screen and discuss “A
Serious Man”, a 2009 Academy Award nominee for best
COMMUNITY PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS picture. It’s a darkly comedic Coen Brothers’ film, often
described as a Jewish Midwest-suburban version of the Book of
Job. It asks a lot of questions about ethics, morality, the nature
of evil, the relevance of Judaism…and leaves the answers up
to us.
Please RSVP by calling the Temple office at 561-832-0804.
