Cancer Celebration Of Life 5K Run And Walk Abacoa

Hundreds came out at 7 a.m. to Roger Dean Chevrolet to honor and celebrate the cancer journeys of brave young
Stadium in beautiful Abacoa for a Cancer Celebration of cancer warriors.
Life 5K Run and Walk. This beautiful certified 5K course went through
downtown Abacoa and
ended at home plate in Roger
Dean Chevrolet Stadium!
The course was flat and fast,
and lined with superheroes.
There were prizes for best
team name, best fundraiser,
best fundraising team, best
superhero costume (adult),
best superhero costume
(ages 10 to 18), best
On your mark, get set… superhero costume (ages
10 and under), and best dog
costume.
During the 5K course,
athletes earned beads along
the way that honor a child’s
cancer journey: blue beads
for hope, red beads for
strength, green beads for
resilience and tenacity,
gold beads for bravery at
the finish line. Gold is the
color of childhood cancer.
…go! There was also a one-
mile warrior walk to show
support for these brave kids.
This family-friendly
event also had an amazing
Kidz fun zone for the young
and young at heart. Kids
between ages 4 to 10 ran
the 100-yard young hero
dash, while kids ages 4 and
under participated in the 10-
yard diaper dash. A select
number of kids were chosen
randomly to run the bases at
Roger Dean Stadium. Target
