Festival of the Arts Boca from page 1
“We are looking forward to going ‘virtual’ and
delivering our message globally,” said Joanna Marie
Kaye, executive director of Festival of the Arts Boca.
“This promises to be a fun evening, bringing together
past festival artists and authors to help us raise awareness
and funds for our educational initiatives.”
The festivities will begin at 7 p.m., when guests
will join cohosts Kaye and Festival Board member
Olivia Hollaus live on Facebook, YouTube, and the
Festival’s website for an evening of entertainment and
visits by Festival artists of the past, present and future.
Already scheduled to appear are presidential historian
Doris Kearns Goodwin, former U.S. poet laureate
Robert Pinsky, superstar violinist Joshua Bell, classical
guitarist Milos and Festival Music Director, Constantine
Kitsopoulos.
Starting in September, guests will be able to register
to participate in the silent auction and order special “Party
in Place” packages of goodies to enjoy while watching
the live streamed entertainment at festivalboca.org.
It is a central mission of Festival of the Arts Boca to
expose youth and their families to the fine arts. Through
community support and sponsorships, the Festival gets
its visiting artists to engage with students--often through
a school visit, open rehearsal, master class or direct
collaboration. The Festival also provides free tickets to
student groups and their families. The new goal is to add
activities throughout the school year.
The 15th Annual Festival of the Arts Boca, presented
by The Schmidt Family Centre for the Arts, will return
to Mizner Park Amphitheater March 5th through 14th,
2021, with a celebration of music, dance, and authors.
