Inheritance
Written by: Dani Shapiro Imagine This As Your...
This novel examines the role of genetics as the main character, an
author by profession, finds out that the man who she believed to be
her father is not her biological dad. Rather he is in modern terms her
“social” dad. While she was raised in a Modern Orthodox community
she finds out that her biological Dad was in fact not Jewish. Her
journey into search for the truth about her birth is very interesting.
This is a tale of nature vs. nurture and what really determines who
we are and how we live our lives.

In his apartment in Rome in the 1960s, the elderly and guilt-
stricken Gen. Umberto Nobile (Peter Finch) recalls the tragic airship
expedition he led to the Arctic 40 years earlier and the equally
catastrophic rescue effort that followed. The story is told through
flashbacks to the original voyage and a present-day trial of Nobile
by the angry ghosts of the men who died in the debacle, including This Feels Like Home
the stern specter of the legendary explorer Roald Amundsen (Sean
Connery).
