Mandel Foundation Donates from page 1
The Mandel Foundation has been a powerful partner
in the South Florida landscape and with Federation in
building Jewish life in Palm Beach County for many
years. Its founders — brothers Jack, Joseph, and Mort
— have helped provide vital services and programs that
have left a lasting legacy felt throughout the region. The
Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches, the Mandel Building
at Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, the Mandel
Public Library of West Palm Beach, and the Mandel
Palm Beach Recreation Center are examples of how the
Mandel family’s dedication and passion, and in particular
Mort and his wife, Barbara, for building a strong Palm
Beach County will be experienced for decades to come.
“Federation informed us that food scarcity has been
a real challenge in the broader community with so many
neighbors struggling due to unemployment, students
attending school virtually, and limited food supplies,”
said Steve Hoffman, chairman, Mandel Foundation.
“The work at the Palm Beach County Food Bank and
Feeding South Florida to put food in the hands of the
tens of thousands of people who desperately need it has
been swift, far-reaching, and effective. We are gratified
that we can play a meaningful role to increase food
distribution to those who need it most.”
In 2020, Federation participated in a study with
Brandeis University that revealed financial insecurity
and emotional distress growing at an alarming rate
locally due to the pandemic. Federation has been
responding with partners in the Jewish and broader WE SERVICE
community to address these issues, which have also ALL Locally Owned & Operated
included job loss, hunger, and more. BRANDS! Expert Repairs, Sales, Duct Cleaning, Service & Installation
