Jupiter Festival Of Bands Draws Record Crowd!

At the Velocity Community Credit Union Stadium at
Jupiter High School on Saturday, Nov. 6, the Spirit of Jupiter
Marching Band hosted the annual Festival of Bands, where 24
dedicated and talented high school marching bands competed
before a record crowd in the largest regional event in the state.
The Festival of Bands was one of the last opportunities for
the bands to be evaluated by a panel of nationally recognized
music educators and marching band experts before heading
to the Florida Marching Band Championships.
Performances took place throughout the day before a crowd
of approximately 3,500. During the festival, sponsored by
Baptist Health South Florida, fans could vote for their favorite
band. Hialeah Senior High School was the fan favorite for
Flight 1, and North Fort Myers High School was voted fan
favorite for Flight 2.
Somerset Academy Charter School Panther Marching Band
from Pembroke Pines, Fla., earned a score of 80.4 and was
named Grand Champion for Flight 1. With a score of 88.45,
