JULY 3 RD Beach United Way
Nettie Finkle Award

Kathleen Waddell is the winner of the 2022 Town of
Palm Beach United Way Nettie Finkel Award. Waddell, a
volunteer at El Sol, Jupiter’s Neighborhood Resource Center,
JULY 4 TH accepted the award Tuesday, April 19, at The Breakers during
the United Way’s Annual Meeting. The award recognizes
6:00pm volunteer excellence.
Waddell was lauded for her many areas of service,
which include being a lead kitchen volunteer, writing
grant applications, assisting with community events, and
advocating for El Sol within the Town of Jupiter. She helped
design and secure funding for a new kitchen renovation and
managed the kitchen for three months prior to El Sol hiring
a new staff food and nutrition coordinator. The award winner
was chosen by a Town of Palm Beach United Way Committee
that reviews nominations submitted by the agency’s 47
partner agencies. Palm Beach’s United Way also made a
$2,000 donation to El Sol in Waddell’s honor.
El Sol exists to improve the quality of life for the residents

primarily to day laborers and their families.
