The World According to Hunt Slonem exhibit will
show over two dozen small- and large-scale original
works by Hunt Slonem. Slonem, based in Manhattan,
is known for his neo-expressionist style paintings of
bunnies, tropical birds, and butterflies. His endearing
subject matter, predominantly in oil on canvas, works in
both contemporary and traditional settings.
Slonem’s work can be found in over 250 museums
worldwide and is a favorite of the rich and famous,
including celebrities Kate Hudson, Kris and Kylie
Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, and Julianne Moore, to name a
few. The exhibition is graciously sponsored by Joanne
Leonhardt Cassullo and the Dorothea Leonhardt Fund of
the Communities Foundation of Texas Inc.
“We are excited to open the season with concurrent
avant-garde exhibitions. Hunt Slonem’s paintings are
like portals into the universe. He applies thick paint
with abandon bringing his subjects into focus with vivid
colors and rich textures. During receptions, we will be
giving magnifying glasses to our guests so they can look
more closely at his work,” states Curator Janeen Mason. Director of Ceramics at Lighthouse ArtCenter Chad
