J.A.C.D. (Just Against Children Drowning) which donates
Life Saver Pool Fence Systems to families. He founded
J.A.C.D. in honor of Joshua and Christian DeMello, his twins
who tragically drowned at 13 months old.
Keynote speaker for the evening, Paul Lagergren,
Jr., shared his personal experience with Live Like Jake
following the nonfatal drowning accident of his 18-month-
old daughter, Penelope. Lagergren recounted how, while
struggling to pay the medical bills required to keep Penelope

“For every child who drowns, there are nearly three
times as many who survive, but suffer serious injuries as a
result,” says Morrison. “Live Like Jake is there to support
those families as well, which makes every dollar raised
critical for those families in need on a daily basis.”
Additional funds were raised during the event’s
exclusive diamond fundraiser. Guests purchased glasses
of champagne with the chance of winning an authentic,
brilliant round diamond worth $10,000 (including setting
and chain), courtesy of IberJoya Diamonds and The Owen
Group. Lucky guest Allyson Sullivan was the proud winner
of the night who later took to the floor to join the dance
party under the “moon and stars.”
