Jacqueline Saper was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, in an
unusual family with a Mizrachi, Persian father, and an Ashkenazi
British mother. Since birth, she has been a bridge between the
Jewish Eastern and Western cultures and customs. She lived
under the Sharia laws of the Islamic Republic as a Jewish woman
until 1987, when she escaped Iran with her family.
Her memoir is the winner of the Chicago Writers Association
2020 Book of the Year Award. Saper is an expert on issues
