United Way Foundation Honors
John And Linda Loewenberg
For Humanitarian Efforts
The United Way of
Martin County Foundation
recently honored John and
Linda Loewenberg with
the 2020 Frances Langford
Humanitarian Award
during a reception held at
Harbour Ridge.
The couple was
honored for their ongoing
philanthropic endeavors
directly benefiting United
Way as well as a multitude Peter and Gayle Grimm working to create long-term social change and provide
of nonprofit organizations
throughout the community.
Over the years, John has
volunteered extensively. He
was a trustee of Springfield
College, the National
Computer Museum, the
Clarke School for the Deaf, the
Pioneer Valley United Way, a
director of the Humane Society
of the Treasure Coast, and
participated in several Treasure
Coast nonprofit advisory
committees. At the same time, Laurie and Marc Gaylord
Linda served for nine years
on the Martin Health System
Foundation Board, chaired the
Chrysanthemum Ball and was
involved in several Harbour
Ridge committees. In 2011,
John joined the Martin Health
System Board of Directors and
was chairman from 2015 to
2019. As chairman, he played
a vital role in the merger of
Martin Health System and
Cleveland Clinic.
The couple’s heartfelt Leigh and Bob Garry
compassion earned them
the prestigious Frances
Langford Humanitarian
Award that recognizes
community leaders, who,
like Langford, demonstrate
the caring commitment and
compassion for humanity in
their lives and deeds.

blessed to be honored with
this Frances Langford
Humanitarian Award.
Humbled because there are Dennis Longstreet and
so many generous people in George Davis
this room who deserve equal
credit,” Mr. Loewenberg said. “And blessed because there are
many people outside of these walls that are not as fortunate as
we are, and we believe that with our good fortune, we have an
opportunity to make the Treasure Coast a better place.”

The Frances Langford Humanitarian Award
reception is the signature event of the United Way
of Martin County Foundation. The foundation is
an independent public charity uniquely positioned
to accept legacy gifts and build an endowment
fund to meet the current and future unmet needs
of Martin County.
