Every day.
This event was inspired by the challenges many have
reported with regards to spending too much time with their
loved ones during the quarantine and inevitably getting on
each other’s nerves.
Isser Zalman and Chana spoke about the need to have
respect within a marriage. They described this as the ability
to fulfill each other’s wishes without any desire or attempt to
pass judgment on the position of the other. All relationships
have mountains and valleys. If you’re going through a
challenging time in your relationship, it’s normal. Just ride it
out by being kind and respectful to your spouse and ultimately
this will lead to deeper love and connection.
In their closing comments, hosts Rabbi Dovid and Chana
Vigler clarified that these truths apply to other relationships as
well and are not exclusive to marriage. They explained that on
Shavuos, the Jewish People entered into a marriage with G-d,
as the Chosen People. Not always do we have the happiest
of marriages with G-d. But we can apply the principles of
love in our human relationships to our relationship with G-d
as well.
