veterans Memorial Bridge 5K
We had a beautiful
morning on Saturday,
Nov. 14 for our first
Veterans Memorial
Bridge 5K. The runners
had perfect weather as
they ran up and over
the bridge while social
distancing. We were
thrilled to have Aurora
Jenkins sing the National
Anthem and United
States Congressman
Brian Mast give everyone
a pep talk before they
took off. Special thank
you to the color guard
from the Hobe Sound
VFW for presenting
the colors before the
race. There were 121
runners and walkers
and we feel confident
that this will grow next Missi Campbell, Executive Director of the Palm City Chamber of
year. Donations will be Commerce; Matthew Right, Male Masters Winner; Fernando Silveira,
presented to Operation Male Open Winner; Julie Sapusek, Female Open Winner; and Joan

Adjusters, Fully Promoted, Tami Karol Insurance, and the Tykes and Teens Festival of Trees. The
iThink Financial. event was sponsored by President’s Council

and Teens works throughout our community
assisting with mental health concerns of local
children. They work in the schools and have
had over 21,000 virtual sessions since March.
The Palm City Chamber of Commerce tree was
a Dr. Seuss theme. The winner of our tree, Tim
Taylor, donated the tree back to the Chamber
so that we could make a little boy’s wishes
come true. Adam really wanted the tree so we
called his family and his mom brought him by
so that he could “shop”. Adam took most of
the decorations, the tree skirt, books, a snow
globe, and of course, candy canes. This is what
Christmas is all about!
