New ‘Art In Public Places’ Sculpture

Several months back, the City of Boca Raton put out a
“Call to Artists.” The challenge was to make a sculpture
to be placed at the South Beach Park for all to see as they
approach the public beach. The artwork would depict the
dangers of plastic to our environment.
Deputy Mayor Andrea Levine O’Rourke, a passionate
supporter of Art in Public Places explained, “What a great
opportunity to combine artistry with environmental education.” Artist Gregory Dirr in the process of creating the sculpture
