we are put in a state of awe
and disbelief at the things
we hear and see on the news.
We ask ourselves, “What’s
next?” We have political
scandals, pandemics, sudden
deaths, and mysterious
UFOs invading the stratosphere. If we allowed it, we
would be on constant alert. We need something to soften
the blow. Our immune system does this for our physical
bodies, but what about our mental and/or emotional health?
I have experienced throughout my life many shocking
events that caused worry and dismay: World War II,
Korean and Vietnam wars. Two brothers served on Guam
