Louisiana is a beautiful, interesting, and special place
full of history. New Orleans is much more than the French
Quarter with its jazz music and unparalleled cuisine. The
city and environs holds a special place in my heart. If you
haven’t visited, put it on your bucket list. Time is fleeting and
like the winds of a hurricane, it doesn’t stand still, and one
can’t make too many memories. Visit the Quarter and listen
to some blues and jazz, maybe have dinner at Antoine’s. Go
to the Top of the Mart and have an after-dinner drink and
enjoy the view. The next day take a drive on River Road all
the way to Baton Rouge, enjoy the scenery, the small towns
along the way, and like Rhett Butler, just don’t give a damn
about anything else.

The Reward
Well, you read this far so I guess I should get to the
interesting part, right? PGA POA was originally incorporated
in May, 1979. Yes, that is 40 years ago! I wish I had more
photos of PGA National from the days after the developer
transition (back in 1997) when I joined you. The community
has come a long way!
The Board of Governors will have some nice surprises

year so it makes sense, right? Well, it makes sense if your

should understand that this community had one of the most
diligent, qualified group of individuals working together on
a “Transition Committee” that I have ever seen or heard of.

committee dedicated countless hours to learning all about
PGA National. Sadly, we have lost some of them but in
memory of those who worked so hard (and the families

Giveaways All ages welcome at the end; the guardhouses had cedar shake roofs and wood

white signs that were completely invisible at night.
There are still enhancement projects ahead as always, but
they are aesthetics; it is the people that make your community
what it is. You are fortunate to have a great group of residents
and it has been a sincere pleasure working for you. The PGA
POA staff and Lang team are proud to serve as stewards
of your community so thank you to the past and present
volunteers at the POA and in each of the 40 neighborhoods.
