New Homecoming Event To
Help Shelter Animals Deemed
A Success
The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast’s first
homecoming event raised more than $10,000 that will
go toward the care of its shelter animals. Held at the
Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort and Marina,
the event was aimed at millennials.
True to homecoming form, the highlight of the evening
was the crowning of a king – Austin Clifford — and queen
— Chessa Zanfini – representing one of the presenting
sponsors, Brightway Insurance - Vincent Zanfini Family
Agency. Joyce Hewitt with Maronda Homes was the other
presenting sponsor.

Clifford and Zanfini earned their titles by being the
top male and female fundraisers. In addition to their
newfound royalty, they will receive a number of “purrks,”
including two tickets to the 2020 Pup Crawl; two tickets
to the 2020 HSTC Homecoming; their choice in naming
rights for one animal in adoption; and a one-quarter-page
ad featuring their pet or business in the Clawsmopawlitan,
the keepsake program at the Paws and Claws 2020 Gala.
The informal fall ball also featured light bites and a
D.J. spinning tunes from the mid-’90s to the 2000s that
took attendees back to their high school days.
