                                                                                                           strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Each

                                                                                                           sweat equity hours of their own labor into the construction of
                                                                                                           homes before being eligible to purchase their home utilizing

                                                                                                           Wine Is A Universal

                                                                                                             When I was in my
                                                                                                           early 30s I embarked on a
                                                                                                           backpacking trip through
                                                                                                           Europe with a friend.
                                                                                                           Although backpacking only
                                                                                                           described my luggage of
                                                                                                           choice (I stayed in hotels and
                                                                                                           ate well!).

                                                                                                           breakfast owned by a couple
                                                                                                           that only spoke Flemish. In playing charades to try and
                                                                                                           communicate, they pointed to two bicycles and then in the
                                                                                                           direction of town.
                                                                                                             It was dusk as we rode under the large arc of the city
                                                                                                           gate. It was like something out of an American Express
                                                                                                           commercial. We were entering a different time and place.

                                                                                                           churches from the 12th century. I realized nothing I would

                                                                                                           boisterous man, that was also the chef, came over to us and

                                                                                                             He was cooking in what looked like a huge fireplace. To
                                                                                                           our delight he sent a waiter over with a bottle of Cabernet
                                                                                                           Sauvignon. We noticed that every time a table was served
                          CompounDing                                                                      wine, all the waiters and the owner would cheer and take a
                                                                                                           drink. This was a very happy and tipsy staff!
                                                                                                             We sat back with our glass of Cabernet and just enjoyed
                                                                                                           the ambiance. The chef would cut a piece of everything he
                                                                                                           was cooking for various patrons, and put it in front of us.
                        The Pharmacy With A                                                                To this day, I can’t tell you what we ate.
                                                                                                             The food and the wine were perfect, but the best part was
                                                                                                           the once in a lifetime experience shared by everyone there.
                                                                                                           All these years later, I think of this night every time I have a
                                                                                                           glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. We may not have spoken the
                                                                                                           same language, but the language of wine was truly universal!
