stores, encyclopedias, Yellow Pages and more … it turns
out, as we have always known, that real estate professionals
are needed, and very important in the home buying or selling
process. The right real estate professional will provide
tremendous value from start to finish.
While most people think that real estate agents detest the
Internet, it’s exactly the opposite. The Internet is a tremendous
tool that is valuable to both the agent and the home buyer or
seller. Having a knowledgeable client takes a portion of the
guesswork out for the agent and makes for a better team and
a successful outcome.
The increase in buyers turning to real estate agents for
home advice keeps growing and that is due to the value
the agent brings to the transaction, from the search and the
plethora of tasks and situations in between to the closing.
The stats from the NAR (National Association of Realtors)
are fascinating. For example, Internet users tended to look
at more homes and shop longer than non-Internet users.
Millennials typically looked for about 11 weeks to find a
home, while baby boomers and adults older than 69 searched
for eight weeks. Those who used the Internet to search for
homes looked at 10 homes over a 10-week period versus four
homes in four weeks for those not looking on the Web.
As a matter of fact, real estate firms and agents are
embracing the digital age with a heavy increase in social
media use and interactive websites that are extremely user-
friendly. As well, real estate agents know how to properly
showcase a home with stunning photography, virtual tours and
even drone footage … a critical component of being found
on the Internet search and capturing the buyer’s interest.
Purchasing a home is not like buying clothing off of the
Internet. Even in this ever-changing digital age, buyers and
sellers increasingly rely on the knowledge and expertise of
real estate agents.
Are you working with a true real estate professional? They
can make the difference between a stressful, nonproductive
transaction to a seemingly seamless and successful purchase
or sale from the start of a search, to the closing table and
beyond. Contact Doreen Nystrom, sales manager, Lang
