Paid Family Leave For Town Employees Update
Last month I renewed my advocacy for a new paid
family leave policy for Town employees. I believe it
is important our Town employees have adequate paid
time off with their family after the birth or adoption
of a child, during a severe illness of a family member,
bereavement, or other significant family matter. I want to
thank Councilor May for supporting this type of policy.
Unfortunately, Councilor Kuretski, Councilor Delaney
and the Mayor all argued and voted against the item.
I am disappointed they believe our employees should
continue to have to beg other employees to donate time
those other employees have earned just to ensure this paid
time off. I will continue to advocate for this issue and am
